Introduction

We are avaliAção e Linguagem (assessment and language), a research group from the Graduate Program in Language Studies at the State University of Londrina. If you want to learn more about our university, watch the video below, in English:

We understand that assessment is not synonymous to testing. We adopt a concept of assessment as being an integral part of teaching and learning and as an essential process to promote student development. In that sense, assessment encompasses the use of diversified instruments and techniques, considerations about learning goals and target audience, as well as reflections about ethics and social justice.

Our main research is within the field of language assessment; more specifically, language assessment literacy, teacher (assessment) education, learning oriented language assessment and assessment in hybrid contexts.

This space is being built with the goals of disseminating our work and establishing connections with teachers, researchers and anyone else interested in expanding their views on assessment for learning.

On this website you will find resources on assessment (papers, videos, suggested readings), information about events and a summary of the research we have been conducting.
